Quantity surveyor construction projects nationwide

Our client is looking for a QS who will work with the team on all costs relating to building and civil aspects. The chosen candidate will need to show they can reduce project costs while maintaining the highest levels of quality and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and be driven and motivated to advance in their careers. They will also need to support the development of the team for quantity surveying. Role and Responsibilities: * Creation of cost projections for each stage of the design and pretender. * Preparation of bid and contract documents, such as schedules of rates and quantities, etc. * Assist in determining the client #39;s needs and conducting feasibility studies for alternative designs and additional items * Administration of various types of works contracts. * Putting together and analyzing bid costings * Advise the QS Team on contractual claims with your assistance. * Final Accounts Preparation and Agreement * Keep abreast of the various building contracts currently in use. * Recognize the effects of health and safety requirements * Assist the QS Team in managing and approving the projects #39; final accounts. Ideal Candidate: * Third level Degree in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying or similar * Minimum of 4+ years QS experience * Minimum 2+ years experience with a Main Contractor * Ability to QS / Price projects / deal with interim payments / valuations / negotiation with sub contractors / agree final accounts * Knowledge of varying Irish Forms of Contracts and Contract Procedures and Protocol * Competent in all forms of surveying packages, Microsoft Excel, Buildsoft, etc.. (strongly computer literate ndash; Cubit an advantage) * Strong communication and interpersonal skills dealing with design team / client/ meetings etc. * Previous experience working on high quality medium - large-scale Public and Private contracts in various sectors: - Industrial / Health / Pharma / Commercial / Education
