Development engineer

A great opportunity to join a global engineering consultancy specialising in transmission and driveline systems. The role will be based at their impressive test facility in Leamington Spa. There has been plenty of investemnt in the Test Development area and they have 12 operational rigs which are able to deliver cutting edge testing services. Predominately working on projects testing electric drive systems and working closely with clients to understand the real issues they have. Clients (OEMS #39;/Tier 1 suppliers) have been very impressed with the level of reults achieved. You will be working in a team of 13 people and be pasioante about automotive and delivering quality testing on electric drive systems. Key Responsibilities bull; Application of technical knowledge and experience to provide innovative engineering solutions to meet a variety of customer requirements bull; Use of and proficient in appropriate software related to your engineering background bull; Support senior technical staff in complex development and test activities bull; Support FMEA reviews bull; Prepare test plan and specifications bull; Specify test rig requirements including instrumentation and fixture tooling bull; Plan and co-ordinate suppliers and external testing bull; Specify and prepare data logging equipment, instrumentation and wiring requirements bull; Supervise technicians with build, test and measurement procedures and supporting documentation bull; Calibrate instrumentation bull; Conduct and provide instructions for testing bull; Running the rigs and test execution bull; Generate test results, analyse data and compile test reports bull; Present and communicate technical and commercial information, clearly and concisely, both internally and to customers bull; Take an active role in the continuous improvement initiatives within the Development and Test function bull; Where appropriate, undertake Project Lead role; leading a small project team to deliver a successful project outcome; from both a technical and commercial perspective
