Job Opportunity: Mechanical Supervisor Location: Oxford Salary: Up to GBP45,000 per annum plus package Company Overview: Our client offers a unique end-to-end service, covering needs assessment, solution definition, design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, and aftercare of water and wastewater treatment assets. They are expanding their delivery team and seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to cover the South and Midlands regions. Duties Responsibilities: middot;Plan, supervise, and assist with on-site mechanical installation works for wastewater and water treatment plants, including scraper bridges and fabricated products. middot;Ensure all activities are planned, coordinated, and conducted safely in compliance with standards, policies, and regulations. middot;Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of systems to meet British, ISO, and client standards. middot;Assist fitters and operatives with day-to-day site activities involving steelwork, pipework, etc. middot;Liaise with project managers/engineers on project aspects. middot;Induct onsite personnel, subcontractors, and visitors. middot;Communicate method statements, risk assessments, and procedures to onsite personnel. middot;Conduct toolbox talks and maintain training records. middot;Address defects in plant and equipment promptly and ensure proper PPE is worn. middot;Report accidents, incidents, and near misses to Project Manager/Engineer. middot;Maintain good housekeeping and implement emergency plans when necessary. middot;Liaise with internal/external safety officers and auditors during site inspections. middot;Record and close non-conformances for projects. middot;Apply industry best practices to ensure quality outcomes. middot;Collaborate with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and contractors. middot;Comply with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work Plans. middot;Complete daily reports and uphold company HSQE policies. middot;Identify and promote new ideas and improvements. Key Skills Experience: middot;Engineering/science qualification, ideally to HND/HNC/C G level or equivalent. middot;Minimum two years #39; experience in a similar role within utilities or M E engineering. middot;Experience in planning, supervising, and carrying out steelwork assembly, welding, and site mechanical works. middot;Training/qualifications in coded welding, steel fixing, or similar. middot;Strong focus on quality control and continuous improvement. middot;Electrical awareness and training advantageous. middot;Excellent communication skills. middot;Experience within the UK water industry preferred. middot;Willingness to travel regionally and nationwide, including overnight stays. middot;Full driving licence.
