Postion: Housekeeping Supervisor / Senior Cleaner Salary: GBP14.00 - GBP14.50 per hour Location: Oxford Our client based in Central Oxford are looking for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor/Housekeeper on a temporary basis. This will include ensuring cleanliness of all rooms; dealing with staff and guest enquiries; managing staffing allocation during staff holiday and other absences, including recommending to the Accommodation Manager if temporary staff are required; allocating work and supervising standards of work; identifying the need for staff training, monitoring performance and providing training as required. General Responsibilities: To train all new scouts, as per the agreed training plan, in both the policies and procedures of the College and in the correct methods of cleaning and maintenance, ensuring the necessary records are kept. To carry out regular spot-checks in accordance with procedures and to provide constructive feedback and training for staff on how to maintain the required standards. To identify individual training needs and to carry out necessary training in liaison with the Housekeeper, as per the training plan, and to maintain training records. The Housekeeper and Deputy are responsible for ensuring the efficient use of chemicals by the Housekeeping team, and their correct storage, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained and monitored, and for issuing stock to staff as required. To help the Housekeeper with the stock take. Daily Cleaning Duties Thoroughly clean to the required standards all designated rooms, including bathrooms, kitchens landings, stairways and corridors. Empty bins and wash glasses etc. Dust and vacuum Guest Rooms, including bathrooms, daily and change linen accordingly. Sweep and mop floors, clean worktops and sinks and empty bins in kitchens daily. All washbasins, baths and toilets to be thoroughly cleaned as per schedule. Stairways, landings and corridors to be dusted and vacuumed as per schedule. PERSON SPECIFICATION Previous supervisory experience Ability to communicate well with all customers and have a good level of spoken and written English Ability to work to identified cleaning standards Possess excellent communication skills Ability to work as part of a team and offer flexibility to cover for absence of colleague(s) Reliable, trustworthy and capable of using own initiative In excellent health, capable of doing physical work which involves bending, lifting and climbing stairs COSHH and Manual Handling experienceApplicants must be enthusiastic, hardworking and have a flexible approach to work and able to work additional hours to cover sickness and holidays. There will be a requirement to work weekends on a rota basis especially during busy periods such as conference season. Hours of Working: The hours of work are 7am - 1pm, working 5 days out of 7 between Monday to Sunday (weekend work involved).
