The Health and Safety Manager Role Reporting to the COO the Group HS E Manager will strategically and proactively improve, develop and maintain both the Health, Safety, Environmental (HS E) and Environmental, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) Standards of the Nylacast Group. Focusing on, risk assessment, safe working instructions, training and education culture across the Group ensuring legal compliance and governance at all times. Main Duties for the Health and Safety Manager middot; Advise Directors, Managers Health Safety team with matters relating to Health, Safety, Environmental and welfare of employees in-line with current legislation compliance middot; Update the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors on the health, safety and environmental performance of the group middot; Attend Senior Management and Board Meetings as and when required with accurate, clear and up to date reporting middot; Carry out and complete risk assessments (Process, transport, COSHH, Manual Handling, PUWER etc) middot; Support Departmental Managers the Health Safety Team on Risk Assessments, safe working practices, safe systems of work other appropriate documents systems middot; Devise and develop a plan ensuring Audits, management walk rounds and observations are completed and all findings are accurately recorded with a robust plan for corrective actions middot; Advise of Health and Safety Training awareness throughout the Group middot; Effectively manage the 14001 Environmental System, including the legal register middot; Effectively manage the Health and Safety Management System and drive the implementation of 45001 across the group middot; Manage, direct and develop direct reporting staff, identifying skills and training gaps middot; Drive Continuous Improvement Projects through the team middot; Deliver appropriate HS E training as and when required via the Health and Safety team and external contractors middot; Effectively and accurately manage projects across the group middot; Develop a culture of continuous development around Health Safety and Environmental awareness middot; Ensure that Surveys / Monitoring ndash; Noise, Air, Lighting, Legionnaires, Cranes, PPE, etc - are conducted, monitored, controlled and acted upon across all sites middot; Ensure that all Accidents, Near Misses and Hazard Alert investigations are completed implement permanent corrective actions middot; Proactively work with the team to Identify and correct potential hazards by inspecting facilities, machinery and safety equipment middot; Keep up to date with Health, Safety Environmental Legislation middot; Support on the implementation monitoring of occupational health middot; Compile accurate and informative health, safety and environmental reports middot; Strategically lead Health, Safety and Environmental for the Group, setting clear goals and objectives middot; Adopt both a ldquo;hands on rdquo; ldquo;Strategic rdquo; approach to work ensuring that the operational team along with rest of the business get the necessary support from health and safety team middot; Conduct and chair Steering and Sub-committee and management meetings middot; Working with the team to develop an emergency response and disaster recovery plan middot; Champion best practice and promote a proactive culture around health, Safety and Environmental awareness middot; Effectively communicate Health and Safety across the Group ndash; Tool Box Talks, Safecast, Meetings, Social Media etc hellip; middot; Overall responsibility for HS E associated policies, procedures, safety communications and briefings across the Group Experience Requirements for the Health and Safety Manager * NEBOSH General Certificate minimum, ideally with a Diploma or Degree * Member of IOSH * At least 5 years in a Health Safety role * ISO 14001 environmental management system experience * Experience of ESG * Manufacturing/Engineering background would be advantageous * Excellent communication skills / PC literate * Ability to work on own and as part of a wider team * Ability to manage and control all types of health and safety issues * Ability to research and apply the best industrial and working practices to provide effective services * Abreast with new changes in laws and regulations * Strong command over verbal and written communication * Ability to provide and implement plans, objectives and standards timely Equal opportunities and other information Nylacast Ltd welcomes the talent of people from diverse backgrounds to provide expertise dedication and imagination to propel us to a prosperous future.
