Serious injury legal assistant

A leading Southampton based Law firm is seeking an experience Serious Injury Legal Assistant to join there friendly, fast paced and supportive team. The role will be to provide a senior level of administrative support to the Personal Injury team. Through internal and external client service, team work, initiative, communication and self management act as an ambassador for the Department and firm at all times. Key responsibilities middot; Administrative duties such as transcribing dictation, digital filing, hard copy filing (limited amounts), drafting letters, such as informing clients of dates and hearings, photocopying and scanning middot; Prepare and assist with engagement letters middot; Assist with file opening and billing. middot; Act as initial filer re enquiries. middot; Assist with printing, creating documents and sending letters and other administrative tasks middot; Provides an efficient and effective service to clients, updating them and keeping them informed. middot; To communicate at all times in a clear, polite and calm manner to clients, work colleagues and others. middot; Assist and support more senior members of the team with work or tasks as required. middot; To ensure that standards of quality and the reputation of the firm are maintained at all times. middot; To support the effectiveness of the team by being positive and co-operative with all team members. middot; To demonstrate commitment to the role, Department and through excellent punctuality, timekeeping and attendance. middot; To demonstrate ability to time manage and prioritise workload to meet deadlines. middot; To take initiative for self development and accept changes and new challenges required to meet individual and Departmental objectives. Experience middot; Knowledge of Personal Injury Litigation, court processes and efiling; middot; Must be a good team player willing to work cooperatively with others. middot; Good organisation with strong administration skills. middot; Common sense, practical approach to problem solving. middot; Able to produce a large quantity of work and complete tasks to strict deadlines. middot; IT skills including Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel. Experience such as Proclaim and BigHand desirable but not essential middot; Some experience of case management systems would be desirable. middot; Excellent internal stakeholder and client handling skills. middot; Confident telephone skills. middot; Ability to work under pressure. middot; An interest in Personal Injury desirable. middot; Pro-active in adopting and learning new legal technology middot; Excellent communication skills both for internal stakeholders and our clients middot; Empathy with clients who have often undergone life changing injuries.
