Senior associate solicitor

Moore Barlow is currently seeking a Senior Associate Solicitor/Partner to join our Commercial Team based in either Guildford or Southampton. More about the Commercial Technology Team: Led by John Warchus (Partner), our specialist Commercial Technology Team has received recognition in both the Legal 500 and Chambers Partners as leaders in the market for matters relating to commercial and technology law. Our team advises a wide range of clients, from SMEs through to larger PLC clients, on everything relating to the smooth running of their organisation from a commercial law perspective. This could be the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of complex commercial and technology agreements, business terms and advice relating to software development and licensing, or Software as a Service (SaaS) and outsourcing agreements. A lot of the clients that our team work with operate within the technology space, and therefore they regularly act on matters concerning the protection and exploitation of IP and GDPR/data protection law. The Commercial Technology Team is part of a wider division including the Corporate, Employment and Schools Charities teams and we work closely with them and have many shared clients. Day to day: You will manage and develop your own mixed caseload of complex commercial and technology law matters, whilst playing a vital role in the supervision and continued growth of the team. This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Commercial lawyer to join the team as a Senior Associate and be provided with the ongoing training, development, and support necessary for them to progress towards joining the Partnership. Equally, we would be very keen to hear from individuals who are already in the early stages of their Partnership journey and would be interested in being part of the ongoing growth and success of our leading team. What we look for: * A qualified Solicitor/Legal Executive or Partner with strong prior experience of dealing with a wide range of commercial and technology agreements. Individuals with experience of dealing with technology clients and a good level of familiarity with IP and Data Protection Law are especially encouraged to apply. * You will be proactive and used to managing clients on a day-to-day basis with little formal supervision and with a track record of delegating to and supervising junior solicitors. * We do not tend to use PQE as the sole measure of experience, but we estimate this position would suit somebody with at least 5 years PQE. Ultimately, we are keen to hear from individuals who are currently in a Senior Associate role with a desire to progress to Partnership and existing Partners looking to make a lateral move. * You will have experience in, or a keen interest to be involved in, marketing and business developmentrelated activities. * We are humanfirst in everything we do and seek people who share this trait.
