Key market sectors include automotive, medical, electrical and packaging. The company enjoys an enviable reputation for product quality and stock availability. It is well placed to respond to customer needs through a worldwide service and distribution network and is seeking a Sales Manager to develop their standard range of products. Background to the Role: This role is suitable for an established sales professional who has experience in selling commodity thermoplastic materials such as ABS, Polystyrene, Polypropylene and Polyethylene with the ability to operate in a fast moving, entrepreneurial and dynamic business environment. Primary function: Ensure product sales targets are achieved, maintain profitable growth and develop business in line with short term plans (annual budgets) and long term strategies (5 year plan). Ensure a high level of customer contact on a regular basis, maintain existing business and to report on new business opportunities, customer satisfaction, market information and competition activity. Key Requirements Accountabilities: middot; Responsible for sales development of the company rsquo;s standard products and ensure that as a minimum, the annual sales budgets are achieved. middot; Regular liaison with key principal suppliers where there are well established relationships and product lines. middot; Promote all aspects of the portfolio to plastic processors and ensure new products/product lines are introduced where applicable. middot; Maintain contact on a regular basis with existing and new customers and provide support as necessary. middot; Maintain up to date customer files and in particular the company Customer Information database, producing reports following every customer visit and utilising electronic company information systems (e.g. SAP/Business Warehouse) to access sales data to assist with visit preparation and follow up. middot; Negotiate prices/contracts in line with current price lists and ensure any price changes are negotiated and recorded as appropriate, in accordance with the Company procedures. middot; Manage and deploy the most efficient and appropriate level of customer contact, with close liaison with the Sales Office, in order to ensure that sales opportunities are maximized to the full. middot; Prepare area sales statistics for budget preparation each year. middot; Report and present area sales information including market opportunities and competitor activity at regular company sales meetings. middot; Prepare and maintain a project list for new opportunities and on-going developments via the designated process. middot; Production and submission of monthly Sales Forecast reports with comments outlining customers/product lines. middot; Manage the internal resource to maximum effect including the regular follow up of quotes/sample/product developments trials joint visits as and when appropriate. Person Profile: middot; Ideally strong experience of selling commodity polymer materials middot; Basic technical knowledge of plastics middot; Minimum 5 years product sales experience middot; Must be a highly motivated achiever ndash; make things happen middot; Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels middot; Good organisational and time management skills middot; Computer literate with knowledge of current operating systems and software For reasons of better legibility, the simultaneous use of the language forms male, female and diverse (f/m/d) is avoided.
