Blackstone Recruitment are working with a provider of education, care and support services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are recruiting for a Head of School for one of their schools in Surrey. Please see details below for the full job advert: Location: Effingham, Surrey Hours: 40 hours per week Salary: GBP61,789 - GBP67,928 (FL11 ndash; FL15) Closing Date: 11pm 6th May 2024 Interviews: 9th/10th May About the School: The school is a warm and welcoming school for students aged 11 to 16 who experience a range of needs including autism spectrum conditions and associated behaviours, moderate learning difficulties or specific learning difficulties. The role: They are seeking a talented individual, who will provide highly effective leadership of the school. The Head of School will take a leadership role in assisting the Principal to develop the school in accordance with its shared values and school development plans. Experience: Successful candidate is likely to demonstrate the following: * Successful leadership and management experience in a school. * Teaching experience within an SEN setting * Involvement in school self-evaluation and development planning * Demonstrable experience of successful line management and staff development * Data analysis skills, and the ability to use data to set targets and identify weaknesses. * Understanding of high-quality teaching based on evidence, and the ability to model this for others and support others to improve. * Effective communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to build effective working relationships. * A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils and promoting the ethos and values of the school. * Ability to work under pressure and prioritise effectively. * Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times. * Commitment to safeguarding and equality, ensuring that personal beliefs are not expressed in ways that exploit the position.
