The Role: As Head of Modern Foreign Languages, you will lead and manage our dynamic MFL department, overseeing the delivery of high-quality French and Spanish language education. Responsibilities include: * Providing strategic leadership and direction for the MFL department, setting ambitious goals and objectives to drive improvement and innovation. * Leading a team of dedicated MFL teachers, providing support, guidance, and professional development opportunities to ensure the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning. * Developing a challenging and engaging MFL curriculum that meets the needs of all students and promotes a love for languages. * Monitoring student progress and attainment within the MFL department, implementing interventions and strategies to support the achievement of academic targets. * Collaborating with colleagues across the school to promote cross-curricular links and enrich the language learning experience for students. * Playing an active role in the wider life of the school, contributing to extracurricular activities, events, and school initiatives. Requirements: The successful candidate will have: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant teaching qualification. * Significant experience teaching French and Spanish at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. * Proven leadership experience within an MFL department or similar role. * A track record of achieving excellent results in MFL examinations, with a commitment to raising standards and driving improvement. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues and students. * A passion for languages and a commitment to promoting cultural understanding and appreciation. * The ability to lead and manage change effectively, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
