Rent recovery support officer

We have an urgent requirement for a Rent Recovery Support Officer to join an East London Local Authority on a five month interim role. As a Rent Recovery Support Officer you will be responsible for proactively contacting tenants to discuss current stage 1 arrears and find a relevant solution. You will also field incoming calls / email queries and face to face visits. Maximising rent recovery from customers in Temporary Accommodation and in Council Housing. Contacting tenants in a timely, systematic way to vigorously pursue their rent arrears and respond to any enquiries from contacts within the specified time. Carrying out transactional and administrative tasks required to achieve this. Transferring customers to the 2nd Stage Rent Recovery team, Court Officers and the Complex Case Team in accordance with rent arrears. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a sound knowledge of rent arrears recovery within a housing setting. You must be resilient and have excellent excellent communication skills. This is a hybrid role, after training (2 weeks) you will be expected to attend the office 1 day a week (or more if staff are absent). None driving. Office is close to Central Line tube station.
