Company Details and Job Overview: A newly created Financial Controller position has become available within a dynamic business on the outskirts of Preston. This well known brand is embarking on a 5 year growth strategy which will see turnover increasing by approximately 200% through entering overseas markets and expanding the services they provide. This role is an ideal first or 2nd time industry move for a candidate from an Accountancy Practice background. Whilst there are many technical accounting responsibilities as part of this role, there will also be opportunities to add value in other areas relating to growth initiatives and process/system improvements with plenty of stakeholder interaction, providing strategic financial guidance at a senior level. As Financial Controller, specific duties will include: bull; Leading a team of 2 Assistant Accountants, responsible for their training and development bull; Oversee the preparation of financial reports including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements bull; Set up corporate structure for foreign growth strategies bull; Develop and implement cash strategies for managing third party funds bull; Develop and maintain strong relationships with a variety of external stakeholders including auditors and suppliers bull; Manage internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance bull; Review existing systems and processes, recommending and implementing improvements where required, and leading on any future system implementations/upgrades Experience Qualifications Required to Apply: The ideal candidate will be fully ACA or ACCA qualified with experience within Accountancy Practice, with some industry experience ideally. A forward thinking approach is required with an analytical mindset and the ability to interpret complex financial data to provide strategic insights. Additionally, the confidence to influence and challenge is required with the ability to present new ideas to align with continual improvement initiatives.
