Procurement assistant

We are looking for someone to join our team and work with our Procurement Manager in the management of purchasing and supply chain. About You Energetic and willing to learn, with good judgment, the ability to negotiate and effectively communicate with suppliers, an analytical mind who can easily understand the purchasing and supply chain industry. You are confident, able and willing to suggest, investigate and introduce improvements and new processes. You enjoy analysing and solving complex problems and have careful attention to detail. Your role Review and Place Purchase Order middot; Gain a thorough knowledge of the materials, products, and equipment, we use in our day to day, site and workshop processes middot; Learn and fully understand our operating system and work with Operational and Design teams in setting up new products, and supplier pricing. middot; Liaise with supply chain and build good working relationships to ensure that we obtain best pricing and service. middot; At regular intervals, price-check suppliers and where necessary source new suppliers. middot; Before placing an order, carefully check purchase orders for accuracy, completeness and clarity. middot; Verify that product information, shipping information, cost and delivery dates are all correct before obtaining authorisation to place an order. middot; Place purchase orders, proactively chase and manage suppliers and provide weekly updates to relevant departments to ensure goods arrive on time. middot; Work with Finance team in verifying accuracy of purchase invoices. Schedule Purchases and Arrivals middot; Work with vendors to schedule shipping and delivery times. middot; Receive any orders and verify that the correct items and amounts have been delivered. Stock Management middot; Proactively seek stock data from Worshop and Mobile Teams. middot; Be involved in the management and processing of quarterly stock takes. Your skills and education middot; Interest in manufacturing and construction industry. middot; Interest in procurement processes, policies and procedures. middot; Strong emphasis on accuracy and detail. middot; Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel. middot; Good time management and organisational skills. middot; Good mathematical knowledge. middot; Excellent communication skills. middot; Degree level qualification or similar. Location This is a office based role at our Perivale Head Quarters in northwest London.
