Head of finance

Head of Finance Location: Wakefield Salary: GBP65,000 - GBP70,000 Elevation Senior Finance is currently looking to recruit a Head of Finance in Wakefield for a growing SME business. This is a fast-paced role that will form a crucial link between finance and the wider business. Producing the month-end results, whilst ensuring the board receives value-adding management reports which drive decision-making. Key duties and responsibilities will include: bull; Building strong working relationships throughout the organisation bull; Leadership of the finance team, staff mentoring/ training/ personal development and building resilience through role-sharing and succession planning bull; Continuous improvement of an effective control environment to manage financial, operational and business risks bull; Monthly management reporting, providing insightful business performance analysis to the management team and Board bull; Lead the business planning process, including annual budgeting and regular reiteration of projections, adopting a collaborative approach ensuring this accurately reflects operational assumptions and the group rsquo;s strategic objectives bull; Cashflow management comprising short-term forecasting and longer-term projections bull; Improve the communication and sharing of financial information across the group and its operational leaders bull; Business partnering, attending operational meetings and working closely with senior management bull; Maintain excellent relationships with external stakeholders bull; Provide advice and guidance to colleagues and management teams bull; Manage the annual statutory audit and corporation tax process for all group entities and the consolidation bull; Liaising with key stakeholders/finance providers The successful Head of Finance will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences: bull; Qualified ACA /CIMA/ACCA bull; Experience in leading, mentoring and developing a finance team bull; A team player, leading by example, with the ability to bring out the best in others bull; Excellent presentation skills bull; Significant experience in management reporting and business planning in a group environment bull; Detail-oriented as well as seeing the bigger picture bull; Track record of managing and improving effective and controlled processes bull; Experience in business systems reviews and implementation bull; High energy levels, resilient, self-motivated, proactive Elevation Accountancy Finance is a specialist division of Elevation Recruitment focusing on the recruitment of talented Accountancy and Finance professionals across all levels, from Ledger Clerks to Financial Directors in Yorkshire and surrounding regions.
