SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: North Shields, Tyne and Wear Salary: GBP80 to GBP100 per day Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Full-Time/Part-Time GSL Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team within a primary setting in North Shields, Tyne and Wear. This role is designed for a professional who is committed to supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, facilitating their access to education and promoting their well-being. About the Role: Providing tailored support to students with SEMH needs, fostering a safe and supportive learning environment. Working closely with teachers to implement strategies that promote students #39; engagement and participation in learning. Assisting in the development and delivery of individual education and behaviour plans. Facilitating small group activities and one-to-one sessions to support emotional and academic growth. Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs. Strong understanding of the strategies needed to manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies. Patience, resilience, and a compassionate approach to supporting students #39; learning and well-being. Relevant educational qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalent) are desirable.
