You will like The Design Engineer/Applications Engineer job itself which requires a professional and self-motivated individual with the ability to work to tight deadlines to join a supportive team and help us to achieve growth objectives. More specifically: Technical - Provide technical guidance when interfacing with highly technical external customers. Visit to customer sites to support our Sales Team when required, to ensure that the design and needs of the customer are met on a timely and effective basis. Supports the Sales team by providing technical feasibility input on enquiries with engineering support including communication directly with customers and suppliers when required. Generates and approves sealing design proposals utilising our extensive design and material expertise to ensure the best application solution for our customer. Applications Engineering ndash; design of products for customers using SolidWorks (CAD), whilst dealing with Customers and Suppliers. Quality Systems ndash; Knowledge and experience of Quality Systems, familiarity with the Quality Procedures of ISO9010:2015, PPAP, First Article Inspection, Non-Conformances, Quality Audits etc. Inspection ndash; support with Goods Inwards Inspection of manufactured parts to ensure conformity. Procurement / Suppliers ndash; Work closely with suppliers to ensure quality of product. Hours: Full Time: Monday to Thursday: 8:30 to 17:00 Friday: 8:30 to 16:00 Incl. 30 minutes lunch You will have To be successful as the Design Engineer/Applications Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following: * Further Education in a Mechanical/ Engineering discipline. e.g. Engineering / Technical apprenticeship. * Previous experience desirable in a similar field and position. * Understanding of Seals, O-Rings, Bearings in thermoplastic and elastomeric materials * General understanding of applications in Hydraulics, Pumps, Valves, or Compressors * Excellent problem-solving skills. Experience and comfortable working with customers * Well-organised, self-driven individual, who can prioritise * Knowledge of manufacturing and processes in relevant industries. * Strong written and verbal communication skills of a technical nature. * IT usage of Microsoft Office suite, ERP CAD systems You will get As Design Engineer/Applications Engineer, you will enjoy a competitive salary of GBP45K-GBP50K + Package.
