Mechanical engineer

My client in Stonehouse is currently in need of a Mechanical Engineer due to expansion. My client is a world leader in manufacturing and producing skid-mounted rotary compressors tailored for the oil and gas, renewables, chemicals, and energy/power generation sectors. They prioritise cutting-edge machinery investments and actively pursue initiatives to minimise their carbon footprint. Requirements: The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the Blowers Team new project orders from quotation support through to delivery. For this role candidates will need to have demonstrable experience of working in a manufacturing or engineering environment. A Mechanical Engineering Degree or time served apprenticeship would be an advantage. Candidates will need to be computer literate and have experience of using 2D/3D CAD. A Knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and the ability to evaluate and analyse associated costs is essential. The main responsibilities of the role are: middot; Liaising with internal customers, sales team and the client to develop the blower specification and design. middot; Compilation of picklists and BOMs for blowers using the Access ERP System. middot; Monitor component use, identify stock requirements, and place orders in a timely manner to meet the needs of the production activities such as castings, mechanical seals, and bearings etc. middot; Manage blower costs and timescales to agreed project milestones. middot; Problem solving issues within design, production, and operations and driving efforts to deliver solutions and recovery plans to meet deadlines. middot; Compiling blower build and test documentation and issuing to the production team, including internal data sheets, material specifications, component specifications, manuals, ITPs. middot; Monitor, control and report job status, progress, issues, and other operational updates to other departments and senior management. middot; Compilation and issue of despatch information. middot; Support continuous improvement activities within the Blowers Team.
