The successful candidate will support vulnerable students with a range of different needs, fostering a positive learning environment and promoting academic success. This role requires adaptability, empathy, and a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies. Simply Education are looking for teaching assistants that have an open mindset and understand the important of using initiative in the role. Each day is different, so you must be adaptable and receptive of an ever-changing environment. Our school strives to provide students with engaging and creative curriculum that considers students individual needs. An element of enthusiasm and a good sense of humor would be required. Due to the school striving for consistency, the successful teaching assistant must be able to commit to a full-time position on a long-term basis. No prior experience is necessary however willingness to complete our free CPD training is essential to ensure you are equipped with the right skill set to be successful in the role. Key responsibilities. Building Positive Relationships: Establishing trusting and positive relationships with students is essential. Teaching assistants should create a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel safe to express themselves and seek help when needed. Assisting with Classroom Activities: Teaching assistants support the delivery of lessons by assisting students during class activities, providing one-on-one instruction, and adapting teaching materials to meet individual needs. Implementing Behaviour Management Strategies: Teaching assistants often assist in implementing behaviour management strategies outlined in students #39; behaviour support plans. This may involve using techniques such as positive reinforcement, de-escalation strategies, and conflict resolution skills. Providing Emotional Support: Students with SEN needs may require additional emotional support. Teaching assistants should be empathetic listeners and provide encouragement and reassurance to help students cope with challenges and build resilience. Supporting Inclusion: Teaching assistants help promote inclusion by facilitating the participation of students with needs in various classroom and school activities. They may collaborate with teachers to modify activities and assignments to ensure accessibility for all students.
