As the Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainability. Main Duties Responsibilities: Develop and continuously improve environmental management systems to minimize our organization #39;s impact on the environment. Lead sustainable procurement efforts for all goods and services, ensuring alignment with our environmental objectives. Coordinate pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy initiatives. Implement and uphold environmental policies and practices, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. Maintain proactive communication with local authorities, public bodies, and regulatory agencies. Conduct thorough environmental audits, analyse performance, and report findings to internal and external stakeholders. Take immediate action in the event of environmental spills, conducting thorough investigations and implementing preventive measures. Drive positive change in our business practices to minimize our environmental footprint and maximize sustainability efforts. Personal Behaviours, Skills Experience: Genuine passion for the environment and sustainability and believe in the difference a company can make. Demonstrable experience managing an environmental function or similar relevant field. Ability to promote environmental awareness and influence internal and external stakeholders. Strong attention to detail for compiling accurate statistics and writing factual environmental reports. Commercial awareness and understanding of commercial responsibilities. Ability to set sustainability targets, develop plans, and oversee their delivery through effective project management. Previous team management experience preferred but not essential. Formal Qualifications such as Degree/ Diploma in environmental management or similar advantageous. Membership of IEMA or CIWEM beneficial. Extensive knowledge of ISO14001. Full UK driving license required; occasional overnight stays may be necessary.
