Shift manager

Job Overview: Working alongside our client, an established manufacturer of plastic packaging solutions, we are looking for an experienced Shift Manager with an understanding of plastics and/or food manufacturing, people development production planning, to join their team. Role: The role of Shift Manager will be to proactively lead, develop mentor a small production team to meet Shift KPI rsquo;s and meet production demand, adhere to Good Safe working practices, co-ordinate materials planning control, production planning control whilst liaising with other departments and ensure effective communications with Logistics Warehousing operations. Responsibilities: * Working in accordance with the company rsquo;s BRC IOP Certification, Health Safety rules, GMP housekeeping standards * Managing and leading a team of thermoforming machine operators and production staff * Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members according to production schedules and priorities * Provide training and guidance to ensure that all employees understand their roles and can perform them effectively * Communicate effectively with other Shift Managers, Supervisors and Departments to coordinate production activities * Coordinate production activities to meet daily, weekly and monthly targets * Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with maintenance staff * Liaising with the Planning department to satisfy customer requirements. * Responsible for ensuring the product quality against standard is maintained. * Working with the Production Manager to identify and improve process, procedure production line performance * Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives * Complete various production and Quality focussed records in accordance with the Company requirements * Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries Personal Profile Experience Requirements: * Minimum 5 years rsquo; experience in similar role within FMCG environment, * Computer Literacy use of MS Excel, MS Word Power point. * Experience of Quality management system BRC or ISO * Experience of World Class / Lean manufacturing * Demonstrate continuous improvement initiatives * Basic Process fault finding and rectification techniques * Enthusiastic, self-motivated, work on own initiative * Flexible approach to working hours * Ability to problem solve Distinct advantages: * Working experience of Thermoforming/Vacuum forming * Engineering Qualification / Time Served * Experience of PET PP materials * HACCP, Quality Management Training, Internal Auditor certificate or similar * Experience within same industry at similar level * First Aid qualification Key Words: ldquo;Shift Supervisor rdquo;, ldquo;Production Supervisor rdquo;, ldquo;Shift Manager rdquo;, ldquo;Setter Supervisor rdquo;, ldquo;Injection Moulding rdquo;, ldquo;Thermoforming rdquo;, ldquo;Vacuum Forming rdquo;, ldquo;Production Team Leader rdquo;, ldquo;Plastics rdquo;, ldquo;Packaging rdquo; FOOTER Due to the sheer volume of applications we receive we will only contact successful applications that meet the requirements of our client job brief.
