You rsquo;ll be great with people ndash; a real lsquo;people person rsquo;, able to communicate effectively ndash; explaining yourself clearly in the right tone to suit the situation and be really good at understanding others (behaviours and expressions, as well as vocal). Having a good sense of humour and resilience, and a willingness to help residents with their personal hygiene are also important. What you will be doing You will join an inclusive, supportive team that works well together to provide care to people with learning disabilities and mental health conditions. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you will use your excellent communication skills and experience as a Senior Support Worker with a background in Mental Health conditions to provide care and support people through their care pathway. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of you; being able to do something today that they couldn rsquo;t do last week. You will be working on a 3-4 days per week, including nights and weekends. As a Team Leader you will have Ideally have or working towards NVQ 3 in Health Social Care Have at least 2 years experience Hold a valid UK driving licence (preferred to assist with community visits) Have strong empathy and a caring and compassionate nature Be willing to support residents with personal hygiene Have excellent people and communication skills, and a good sense of humour Deal with challenging behaviours Have a positive and professional approach Be reliable, flexible, hard-working and honest Be local or within commutable distance You must live in the UK and have the Right to Work in the UK full time. 20-hour Student and Skilled Worker Visa #39;s cannot be accepted. Where you will be working Location: Bennett rsquo;s Lane, Widnes, Warrington, WA8 0GT You will be working at the Gateway Recovery Centre, a state-of-the-art facility, providing care for men and women with complex mental health requirements to reduce risk behaviours associated with mental health conditions so that people in your care can ultimately live successful and fulfilling lives within the community. The service is split into four distinct areas: Male Autism Service for the challenging and complex needs of adults with Autism and Asperger rsquo;s syndrome Assessment and rehabilitation for women with complex mental health needs and personality difficulties Specialist inpatient service for older men with complex mental health and physical health needs Low secure care setting for men with a mental illness with or without personality disorder/mild learning disabilities What you will get Annual salary of GBP21,996 - GBP22,991 (Depending on experience) The equivalent of 33 days annual leave ndash; plus your birthday off!
