Maternity education administrator

The post holder will act as an operational assistant providing a professional, and comprehensive secretarial and administrative service to the SMH Education and Practice Development Department. The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination, organisation and administration of the Maternity Training Programme at St Mary s Hospital, Maternity Division and support the Lead Midwife for Education and Practice Development to ensure the standards required by The Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (Maternity Incentive Scheme), the CQC, and local priorities for learning. The post requires a resourceful approach to the complexity of the role, which includes involvement in quality assurance of training at a local level. To provide professional secretarial and administrative support to the maternity education and practice development department. To co-ordinate the specialty-training programme, liaising with the education and management team l by communicating with medical staff and the Maternity workforce. To support educational leads and local faculty providers in the delivery of the curriculum for specialty programmes locally. This will involve planning, scheduling, and organisation of training, along with the appropriate quality assurance monitoring. Responsible for the planning and coordination of high quality joint clinical educational programmes, by liaising with relevant stakeholders. This involves keeping up to date with current issues and developments in the field of Maternity education and training. Monitor attendance at teaching and take appropriate action. To prepare evaluation reports on all training events to ensure a high quality-teaching programme is delivered in line with the curriculum requirements. To support the Lead Midwife Education and Practice Development in developing the quality assurance measures in the Trust by implementing and monitoring quality assurance processes to help improve standards of Maternity education at a local level.
