Introduction Nightingale Hammerson is a leading specialist in the care of older people, supporting specifically Jewish residents. We have two care homes - Nightingale House in Clapham and Hammerson House in East Finchley. As an IT Help Desk Officer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-tier IT support to our staff and residents across both our homes. Your proactive approach will ensure the smooth functioning of all technical systems. You will also support the Head of IT in project deliveries and system implementations. What will your typical day involve? In this role, you ll be at the heart of our IT support operations. Your day-to-day tasks will involve setting up new laptops, ensuring essential software installations, configuring various office equipment, and handling conference gear. Security is a top priority, and you ll oversee the consistent application of security updates across all systems. As part of our commitment to smooth internal transitions, you ll relocate users, manage accounts, and assist with onboarding new team members. You ll also play a crucial role in safeguarding our data through backup and recovery processes, using cutting-edge MDM solutions, patching cables, and monitoring IT hardware lifecycles. Collaborating closely with our MSP, you ll address raised support issues and maintain our Active Directory data. Moreover, you ll serve as a vital knowledge resource, ensuring that our IT Services Knowledge Base remains up-to-date. Your responsibilities extend to owning IT requirements for joiners and leavers, contributing to team objectives, and actively supporting the Head of IT in rolling out planned projects. By working hand-in-hand with the IT Assistant at both of our sites, you ll ensure our staff and Residents receive exceptional IT support. This dynamic role may also encompass additional duties assigned by the Head of IT, making every day unique and impactful. Who are we looking for? The ideal candidate for this role will be well-versed in managing system security and will bring expertise in Office 365 and cloud management. Strong communication skills are a must for effective collaboration, both within the organisation and with external partners. Key qualifications include possessing a relevant IT-related certification, with additional certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified considered highly advantageous. Furthermore, candidates should demonstrate a successful track record of providing level 1 and 2 technical support, showcasing their ability to diagnose and resolve IT issues. They should also have a wealth of experience in handling computer hardware and software installations and upgrades. Proficiency in Office 365 administration and a solid grasp of networking concepts are essential for excelling in this role. The ideal candidate will display general skills and attributes such as critical thinking, resilience when dealing with challenging situations, adaptability, effective prioritisation, meticulous attention to detail, and a self-motivated and flexible work approach.
