Senior structural design engineer

SENIOR STRUCTURAL DESIGN ENGINEER (Leeds and surrounding areas) Our wonderful client has a requirement for a Senior Structural Design Engineer with extensive experience in structural design to join their growing dynamic business This role is technical and operational lead for the northern design team. Reporting to the Associate Director, this role will be instrumental in the growth of the company and supporting the growth of the northern design team. The successful and ideal candidate will be passionate about digital technology and the benefits it brings to the profession. They actively encourage their staff to bring forward new, exciting ideas to help shape our future. As the Senior Structural Design Engineer, your duties will include: * Operational and technical lead for the design team, including design approvals, coaching and mentoring * Delivering design calculations for buildings insurance claims, including subsidence, fire, impact, flooding and storm damage * Completing site visits for residential and commercial building projects * Delivering small to medium design projects * Ensuring that the team reaches the monthly sales targets by driving business development * Reporting to the Associate Director and providing progress reports * Assisting with business development to drive growth of the team including the development of the design team * Assisting in the recruitment process for new technical staff * Developing new ideas to help shape the future of the business Education knowledge required as the Senior Structural Design Engineer: * Good degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering (essential) * Several years post graduate design experience (essential) * Proficiency in IT systems (essential) * A general understanding of building structures and materials including steel, masonry, concrete and timber (essential) * MICE or MIStructE (desirable) Key Attributes Skills required as a Senior Structural Design Engineer: * Excellent communication skills, ensuring great customer service * Excellent work ethic, willing to go above and beyond to support the company growth * Passionate about new technologies, progressive change and continuous improvement * Car owner and UK driving licence, able to travel to site SYSTEMS CAPABILITY: * All aspects of Microsoft Office * Industry standard structural design software such as TEDDS * Proficient in the use of AutoCad/Revit Benefits: * Permanent position * 37.5 hours per week with flexible hybrid working available * Location: Northwest * GBP35,000 + DOE If you feel you have the right skills and experience required for the Senior Structural Design Engineer role, please click the link to #39;Apply
