Jig borer manual milling operative

We are currently recruiting for Indentured/Skilled workers to work on site , for our Yeovil based client. The role will involve manufacturing of Aerospace Equipment, in accordance with Manufacturing Instructions, Specifications and Customer/Regulator Requirements, working within an empowered team environment to meet delivery requirements and reporting directly to the Team Lead. The position of Jig Borer / Manual Milling Operative responsibilities:- * Jig Boring/Milling to tight Aerospace tolerances. * OCQ - Operator Control of Quality (i.e. Stamping to confirm quality of assemblies are to Company and Customer standards). * To achieve on time delivery by ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standard * Interpreting Engineering Drawings, following the process layout and documentation procedures * Working effectively in a lean environment. Qualifications Experience Required: * Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable but not Essential) * Knowledge of machining, specifically Manual Milling (can train Miller to perform Jig Boring) * Knowledge of hand measuring equipment, such as Vernier, Micrometer, Thread, Air Gauges and Plug Gauges * High standard of Health Safety * Adhering to Company Processes Procedures * Working in a Customer-focused environment and achieving targets * Working with Designers and Engineers Attributes/Skills Required: * The position requires the applicant to have an understanding of Aerospace practice and the significance of the safety critical work undertaken * Must be PC literate. * The applicant should be able to display essential skills in the adherence to Health Safety standards at all times, teamwork, flexibility and the ability to use initiative * Striving for Continuous Improvement * Any further training requirements will be provided:- PC skills (incl. Company Operating Systems), Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, 5S, HOS Principles and general Health Safety Pay Rates: From GBP18.34 - GBP21.65 per hour Hours below: Days Mon to Thurs (07:00 to 15:30) Friday (07:00 to 12:00) Days/Late Swing Shift Days - Monday to Thursday (07:00 to 15:30) Friday (07:00 to 13:00) Lates - Monday to Thursday (15:30 to 00:00) This position is subject to meeting the eligibility conditions of Export Control Licenses and Technical Assistant Agreements. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Full BPSS* Screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
