Mechanical design engineer

Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer Salary: GBP30,000 to GBP37,000 depending on experience. Location: Bristol Holiday: 33 days Are you an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, looking for a new and exciting opportunity ? Would you like to join a Global Machinery Design Manufacture business, based at its Bristol site, servicing clients spread across the world ? The Role: Responsible for delivering successful projects to both internal and external stakeholders, the Mechanical Design Engineer will take ownership of projects from initial concept through to build and support of commissioning and installation. Duties will include: Design work of customer projects, including attend specification meetings with global customers, providing contribution regarding the mechanical design of projects. Take responsibility for all the mechanical aspects of a project and provide technical guidance. Communicate with other design engineers (mechanical and electrical) during the design of projects to ensure that these disciplines are fully coordinated. Occasional visits to UK international destinations as per customer project requirements. Contribute creative ideas; producing design schemes, producing assembly drawings. Produce parts lists, detail drawings. Complete engineering design on time to the project plan. Be aware of cost targets in design, purchasing assembly. Document archive project material. Carry out risk assessments on machinery and assemblies of machinery. Advise on mechanical Health and Safety aspects of the product range. Keep abreast of developments in UK EU safety legislation, attend courses as necessary. Attend project meetings and update the Project Managers on engineering progress. Liaise with all departments to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget. Support Assembly personnel during the build phase of a project, assist in commissioning. Support to Sales the Applications Manager regarding concept drawings carton appraisals. The Successful Candidate: Minimum 3 - 5 years #39; experience in a Design Engineering role. Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Integrated) Experience in the design of electro-mechanical mechanisms and equipment. 3D modelling skills (preferably Solid Works) Sheet metal an advantage. Ability to design for manufacture and assembly. The ability to read and produce 2D production drawings applying GD T as necessary Experience of the interactions and interfaces with electrical engineering. Knowledge of the machinery directive and UKCA/CE marking.
