Audit and accounts assistant

We are currently recruiting an Audit and Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper for a reputable firm of Chartered Accountants based in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate. This firm offers a friendly working environment with a team of highly skilled professionals. We would be keen to consider either a fully qualified Accountant, Bookkeeper or someone who is currently studying and has previous experience working in an Accountancy Practice. We would be very keen to find someone who has either experience or an interest in performing client audits. This firm offers a wide variety of services to its clients and is looking for someone who has excellent communication skills and has the ability to build and maintain excellent client relationships. The main purpose of this role is to prepare accounts for a number of clients and to plan, prepare and conduct accounts audits. Audit and Accounts Assistant Responsibilities: Building and maintaining client relationships Managing your own allocation of client accounts Preparing accounts for a number of clients including limited companies and sole traders Preparing month end and year end accounts Dealing with client queries and responding promptly Providing appropriate advice to clients as required Preparing VAT returns Liaising with HMRC regarding various queries Assisting or planning and leading client audits Supervising and training the accounts team where necessaryWe are looking for an Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper with considerable bookkeeping experience and a proven ability of preparing accounts for small to medium businesses. You will ideally have previous experience working in accountancy practice.
