To further enhance our support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team. Role Overview: We are looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant with a specialisation in working with children with autism. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting students with autism, helping them to achieve their full potential and to fully participate in school life. Key Responsibilities: * Provide tailored support to students with autism, both in the classroom and during other school activities. * Work closely with the class teacher and the SENDCo to implement individualized education plans (IEPs). * Assist in the development and delivery of specialized teaching programs. * Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. * Monitor and record the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents. * Support the social and emotional development of students, encouraging positive interactions and behaviors. * Participate in relevant training and professional development opportunities. Qualifications and Experience: * Experience working with children with autism in an educational setting. * Understanding of the specific challenges and needs associated with autism. * Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent). * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND. * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Desirable: * Knowledge of relevant strategies and interventions for supporting children with autism. * Experience using visual supports, social stories, and other autism-specific tools. * First Aid training.
