Pertemps Sheffield are exciting to be recruiting for a hard-working and enthusiastic Caretaker. Our client is an education and training provider with 5 campuses of further and higher education across South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire. They work in partnership with schools, employers and local organisations to continually ensure they are leading and delivering on innovation and skills within the community. Role Description: The position of Caretaker fulfils a key role at one of the campuses within the Group, by ensuring that all buildings are available, accessible and suitable for the use of students, staff and visitors. Youi will report to the Facilities Management Team and work co-operatively with colleagues across the campuses and premises. Main duties: Assisting in maintaining the cleanliness of the campus buildings and grounds by the removal of refuse and emptying of bins Promoting general health and safety by keeping the corridors and fire exist clear at all times of any spills, trips or hazards as reported or noticed by yourself during your walks round the campus grounds Ensuring the rooms are prepared for use, setting up rooms for curriculum areas or meeting rooms, assisting with staff room moves or rearrangement of furniture Monitoring of the contractors working on the campus Routine maintenance and repairs, supporting risk assessments and pre planned maintenance programmes To undertake planned preventable maintenance checks as directed Responding to campus emergencies, including duties of evacuating the buildings in the case of a fire/dire drill and directing emergency services as appropriateSuccessful Candidates: Highly flexible with the ability to respond to quick changes in demands Ability to prioritise jobs from a helpdesk service to ensure the customers #39; needs are met in a matter of urgency and importance Professional appearance at all times (uniform will be provided) Experience dealing with customers in a professional and friendly manner Must have experience working with technology - PC, phone and radio system in order to respond to job requests, incidents and complete accurate records in respect of these Experience within a similar environment/role Please note: To be accepted for this position, we will require a DBS check to be undertaken.Working Hours, Pay Rate and Other Information: The role is being offered on a temporary basis, with the idea of going permanent in the future. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, on a weekly rota #39;d shift pattern of 6am until 2pm 2pm until 10pmThe hourly rate for this position is GBP11.44. You will be based at the campus that is located in Worksop, Nottinghamshire (S81).
