Teaching Assistant Bridgend, CF32 Minimum of GBP12.90 per hour and/or GBP83.85 per day Hours ndash; 8:30 ndash; 3:30, Monday to Friday (No weekends) Starting September Teaching Personnel are looking for enthusiastic and adaptable teaching assistants to join us to work in a local SEN school. The school provides an excellent alternative way to learning for pupils from age 3-19 with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) and behavioural needs ndash; Therefore if you have experience, either personally or professionally, this would be advantageous to applying for the position. We are mainly looking for staff to join which are comfortable in the secondary area of the school, so being confident working within that age group would be essential. You could either be sat with a small group of pupils or be 1-to-1 with a pupil, so you need to be comfortable working in different group sizes and pro-active in building rapport. As you can appreciate, due to the needs of the pupils, consistency is key. Therefore, we are looking for individuals which are looking to commit long term to the role, and gain familiarity and routine with the pupils. Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant are: Ensuring pupils are engages and comfortable during lessons Assist in personal care tasks as an when if needed e.g. toileting and feeding. To plan and implement appropriate techniques to deal with challenging behaviour in pupils where appropriate. To take part in relevant training and courses as required. Requirements and qualifications Enhanced DBS (We can help you facilitate this) Registration with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) (We can help you facilitate this) Has relevant experience either personal or professional to the SEN sector.
