We are currently seeking multiple Supervising Social Workers to join our client rsquo;s team in the Southwest region, specifically Taunton/Bridgwater/Weston super Mare. You will supervise an existing caseload of foster carers with children in placement. Leading on the development of these carers, you will support them to provide high levels of care. They pride themselves in promoting lower caseloads (max. 10 households) with a greater focus on quality and compliance across all aspects of social work provided. Your practice standards will be exemplary with a high focus on regulatory compliance and on achieving positive, evidenced-based progress outcomes for every child. You will be able to build positive relationships with Local Authorities and other external partners, placing the needs of the child at the forefront of every decision made. You will also support the growth of the region including the recruitment, assessment, approval, and induction of new or transferring of foster carers. You will be qualified in a recognised social work degree and registered with Social Work England, working in line with the professional standards, ethics and values of this governing body. Benefits as the Supervising Social Worker: PRP after 6-month probation period. Home-based/hybrid role. To regularly attend the regional office for meetings/training and regular travel to carers homes. 28 days leave plus 8 bank holidays, plus birthday off each year. Increasing by a further 4 days with length of service. Out of hours / on-call payments. 45p per mile for business mileage. Discretionary sick pay (unlimited). Responsibilities as the Supervising Social Worker: To work in close liaison with the Regional/Deputy Regional Manager Senior Supervising Social Worker to develop the fostering service in a specified regional area. To maintain a child-centred approach, fundamental to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of every child. To keep the child in focus when making decisions about their lives and working in partnership with them and their families. To facilitate and participate in successful, activities that enable the agency to recruit foster carers who align with our core values. This may include open days/evenings and events to promote the work of the agency and to attract potential carers. To identify and facilitate the training needs of potential foster families and deliver training in line with the Training Support and Development Standards for Foster Carers so that each carer accepts, understands, and operates within all policy and guidance agreed by the client To undertake and oversee comprehensive assessments of potential foster carers in line with relevant regulatory requirements and timescales, presenting a coherent and analytical report to the Agency Panel. To take a lead responsibility for a small lsquo;case load rsquo; of families as defined by the Registered Manager. Undertaking a high standard of regular, ongoing support and supervision including of foster carer and children rsquo;s files for compliance with NMS and Fusion Fostering rsquo;s policies and procedures placement, plans/care plans, health and education plans, permanence plans and where appropriate pathway plans, risk assessments and behaviour management plans. To work with colleagues to promote the retention of foster carers, by ensuring that there are effective partnership relationships between the agency and the carers. To ensure that carers issues are identified, understood, and promptly resolved. To be part of the on-call rota for the region.Requirements as the Supervising Social Worker: A recognised social work degree/diploma that is approved by Social Work England. To be registered with Social Work England. A knowledge of current legislation particularly The Children Act 1989, National Minimum Standards in Fostering, The Fostering Regulations 2011, The Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010. Extensive knowledge of safeguarding and protecting children from harm. To hold a full UK driving license and have access to a car that is fully insured, with business usage, and has a valid MOT. The ability to communicate well and clearly both verbally and in writing. A commitment to keeping children within their own family or community where this is possible and to maintaining contract between children living in foster families and their birth families where this appears to be in the child rsquo;s best interest. A willingness to increase knowledge and understanding of issues through reading, discussion and training.
