Graduates are required to join a leading GIS company based in Stevenage. We rsquo;re offering the chance for GIS professionals of the future to be involved in the testing, development and lifecycle of desktop, server and web GIS software. Testing and evaluating software is crucial for our customers and reputation. Graduate GIS Engineers (QA) work in Quality Assurance to progress the development and release of our GIS software. It is an ideal position for learning and applying GIS techniques to real world scenarios and exploring the capabilities, application and configuration for optimum customer use. Working with all aspects of the software range (web, desktop and development interfaces) the position offers the chance to define, test and collaborate on new and existing functionality whilst gaining experience and expertise in a range of supporting IT architecture and technologies. This is controlled through comprehensive tracking and management of the development lifecycle. Graduate GIS Engineer (QA) will be expected to: Investigate and analyse software products to validate GIS functionality, isolate and report bugs within the company defect track system Record and communicate testing activities and results Design software and automated testing procedures to test GIS products using programming skills in a Python environment Work with cloud and hosted environments, testing setups, security, databases and configurations Provide technical assistance for the production of user documentation Contribute to research and development programs and projects to meet the company rsquo;s needs and to capitalise on potential new products and functionality Implement GIS research and development procedures and techniques as required Run scheduled application and architecture penetration tests The ideal Graduate GIS Engineer (QA) will have: A minimum 2:1 (achieved or predicted) in a relevant degree subject such as GIS or Geography.
