Highway maintenance engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area. As the experienced Highway Maintenance Engineer you will: To lead the identification and prioritisation of an annual highway maintenance carriageway and footway programme of Pothole defect works as the inspections team (not this role) order within Alloy causeway that this role manages with the supply chain via a framework. Monthly quality checks 20% - Potholes Gully works minor drainage repair / jetting works with 20% site inspections To review road space activity as the wider co-ordination of minor highway maintenance works. Working with contractors to develop and agree the programmes of work, traffic management proposals, and establishing the appropriate permits aligned to defect response times and reactive maintenance works - Potholes. Checking works during and post construction and giving instructions to contractors and sign off works upon completion. Extensive knowledge of highway construction materials is essential. Experience in the use of MS Project, Causeway Technology Alloy , Street Manager, and Parkmap GIS for TRO #39;s are essential. Knowledge of other MCC #39;s systems is desirable. Each annual programme will involve circa 17,000 pothole defects at separate locations across the 32nr wards of which 5,000 are checked p/a. Gully cleansing and minor drainage workflow per year involve circa 55,000 jobs at separate locations across the 32nr wards of which 14,000 are checked p/a.
