Principal engineer rail

A highly respected multi-disciplinary consultancy, home to a dedicated team of exceptional industry experts, requires a Principal Civil Engineer / Principal Structural Engineer to join their infrastructure engineering division and work on rail projects. In this exciting role, the Principal Rail Engineer will work on a range of interesting projects, such as bridge design and renewals, AFA schemes and station developments. Responsibilities: * Act as technical lead for civil / structural design projects * Line manage and mentor a team of Civil and Structural Engineers * Provide engineering support and advice to colleagues and the wider team * Support tenders * Establish project programme, scope and budget * Lead design reviews and design coordination / integration * Ensure adherence to design standards * Liaise with clients and attend meetings Requirements: * Experience as a Principal Civil / Principal Structural Engineer within the rail sector * Hold Chartered or Incorporated status * Extensive experience in the design of civil engineering solutions in the rail industry * Experience leading a team of design engineers * Strong knowledge of Network Rail assurance process * Commercial awareness * CRE (D) is desirable * Client-facing * Knowledge of British engineering standards, as well as those of Network Rail, Eurocodes and CDM regulations * Experience using structural analysis software, such as LUSAS, MIDAS, SuperStress, Robot, S-frame 3D, Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds This is a fantastic chance to join a growing, award-winning consultancy with plenty of opportunities for career development and progression.
