We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Shipping Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Middlesbrough. Position Summary: The Shipping Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating the logistics of shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, carriers, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: * Coordinate and oversee the entire shipping process from origin to destination, ensuring all shipments are handled efficiently and according to customer requirements. * Prepare and process shipping (import/export) documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs documentation. * Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and clients to arrange shipments, track cargo, and resolve any issues that may arise. * Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery, providing updates to clients and internal stakeholders as necessary. * Maintain accurate records of all shipping activities and documentation. * Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including customs and import/export laws. * Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, customer service, and warehouse staff, to coordinate shipping schedules and resolve any logistical challenges. * Handle customer inquiries and provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.. * Assist in the development and implementation of shipping policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency. Qualifications: * Proven experience in a shipping coordinator, import, export, or customs role, preferably within a global logistics or freight forwarding environment. * Strong understanding of shipping and logistics processes, including import/export documentation and regulatory requirements. * Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, carriers, and internal teams. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with logistics software or systems. * Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. * Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.
