Health safety co ordinator junior

Core Principles bull; Develop and maintain a transparent health and safety plan along with associated objectives which help reduce the risk of personal injury, illness and property damage. bull; Achieve compliance with health and safety legislation as well as meeting customer-driven health and safety requirements. bull; Engage all employees in the promotion and achievement of a safe and healthy working environment. bull; Promote a safety first attitude and lead by example. bull; Be a visible, pragmatic and approachable presence on site. bull; Provide professional and accurate health and safety support to employees and management. Primary responsibilities. bull; Periodically walk the site throughout each working day. bull; Ensure all Health and Safety related checks, inspections and servicing are carried out and remedial actions closed out in a timely manner. bull; Deliver internal health and safety awareness training. bull; Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying actions which help prevent recurrence. bull; Question any non-compliance with company health and safety standards bull; Ensure contractor pre work risk control documentation is obtained, inductions undertaken and working practices monitored against agreed controls. bull; Liaise with external regulators as required. Additional responsibilities. bull; Deliver new starter inductions. bull; Complete employee return to work documentation. bull; Undertake environmental site inspections, identifying any deviations from agreed standards. Qualifications and Experience. bull; Demonstrable evidence of working within a health and safety function. bull; NEBOSH general certificate or NVQ equivalent (a minimum of IOSH managing safely may be accepted, along with a desire to undertake additional development training). bull; Membership of IOSH (as a minimum the willingness to join and maintain membership). Personal Capabilities. bull; Good levels of written and verbal communication and engagement skills. bull; The ability to develop positive relationships with colleagues and regulatory bodies. bull; Resilience and patience. bull; Ability to problem solve in a practical manner, prioritise and make appropriate decisions. bull; Ability to write concise but meaningful reports. bull; Good working knowledge of Windows based IT systems. bull; Willingness to undertake training and development as required by the business. bull; Full driving licence (a small amount of intercompany travel is required).
