Senior bridge engineer

Due to ongoing year on year growth, our clients, a multi-disciplinary award winning consultancy are looking to add a Senior Bridge Engineer to the business. As the Senior Bridge Engineer you will join the structural engineering team to help deliver planning, design and engineering services. You will help grow a team and work on projects within London and across the UK. The work ranges from feasibility to full scheme designs, detailed designs, assessments, inspections, construction support and asset management. The role middot;Development and delivery of concept, preliminary detailed highway structure designs middot;Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of drawings middot;Complex structural and data analysis and checking of junior colleagues #39; work middot;Providing technical guidance and leadership to junior colleagues middot;Supporting less experienced team members to allow them to achieve their full potential middot;Planning and management of project tasks and teams middot;Development of project task budgets and programmes and delivering to these targets middot;Attending client meetings and liaising with clients and other stakeholders middot;Planning and undertaking of site visits, inspections and investigations as required middot;Taking an active role in the implementation of CDM duties on projects The ideal candidate middot;Minimum of 5 years relevant experience working in a design team environment middot;Degree within an engineering based subject or equivalent middot;Professionally qualified (IEng or CEng) or nearing Chartered status in Civil or Structural Engineering middot;Background in steel and concrete bridge design and assessment middot;Understand the underlying principles behind design and assessment standards middot;Demonstrable experience supporting the delivery of detailed designs and assessment of highway bridges and structures middot;Adept at working within a team environment and have experience across a range of engineering structures middot;Possess strong analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and current technical standards middot;Appreciate the commercial requirements of projects and have experience supporting the development of budgets and programmes middot;Understand basic structural concepts and the principles of highway structures engineering middot;Can communicate effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractors middot;Understand Health Safety requirements and CDM duties middot;Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD Benefits middot;Negotiable Salary DOE middot;25days #39; annual leave + Bank Holidays! middot;Private Healthcare middot;Continuous training and development middot;Yearly Professional Membership of your choice middot;Flexible Working Policy What you need to do now: If you are interested in this role and fit the criteria above, please send us your application today.
