Finance assistant

Job Title: Finance Assistant / Purchase and Sales Ledger Location: Croydon Salary: GBP27,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our dynamic team in Croydon. As a Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in managing our purchase and sales ledger, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all financial transactions. Key Responsibilities: * Purchase Ledger Management: * Processing supplier invoices, reconciling purchase orders, and managing supplier payments. * Handling supplier queries and discrepancies, ensuring timely resolution. * Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all purchase transactions. * Sales Ledger Management: * Issuing customer invoices and credit notes, ensuring timely and accurate billing. * Monitoring accounts receivable, following up on outstanding payments, and resolving discrepancies. * Preparing and maintaining detailed records of all sales transactions. * Financial Reporting and Reconciliation: * Assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting. * Reconciling bank statements and ensuring accuracy of financial records. * Supporting the preparation of financial statements and audits. * General Finance Administration: * Assisting with payroll processing and employee expense claims. * Supporting the finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects as required. * Ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Requirements: * Proven experience in a finance assistant role, preferably with a focus on purchase and sales ledger. * Strong numerical skills and attention to detail. * Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. * A proactive approach and willingness to learn and develop new skills.
