Alpha Recruitment are recruiting for a Mechanical Project Manager Reporting to the Operations Director, the mechanically biased Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects nationwide across the commercial, leisure, education, and public sectors, ranging in value from GBP100k to GBP1.5M. Key Roles Responsibilities * Involvement in pre-construction activities including pre-start validation, management of the design process, site set-up and production of RAM rsquo;s/CPP rsquo;s. * With the assistance of a Project Engineer/Site Supervisor, manage the day-to-day progress of the projects including recording progress against the project programme and recording any delays, seeking to mitigate where possible. * Manage the commercial success of the project from agreement of procurement/buying schedule with the estimating team through reporting and substantiating Variation/Changes, producing interim applications and the Final Account. * With the assistance of both our in-house design team and external consultants/specialist subcontractors, manage the design process to meet the Employers Requirements and ensure information is available timeously to ensure works on site can progress. * Manage the commissioning, close-out and handover process for the project(s) through close liaison with the commissioning specialists and site teams. * With the assistance of the administrative support teams, Project Engineers and specialist subcontractors, ensure that handover documentation (O M rsquo;s, As Fitted Drawings, Commissioning Certification etc) is prepared and available for handover. Experience/Requirements * The Project Manager shall have at least 5 years rsquo; experience managing mechanical services projects of varying scale, value, and complexity. * A solid understanding of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and drainage systems is required for the role, as well as a working knowledge of specialist systems (BEMS, fire systems etc) is required for the role. * The ability to manage your own diary in order to plan meetings, site visits and general project administration (with support from the admin team, design team and Project Engineer). * The candidate will be required to be proactive and self-motivated, as well as well organised to ensure the smooth running of projects. * A willingness to travel nationwide with occasional nights away from home (as projects dictate). * A HNC or equivalent in Building Services Engineering would be advantageous but not essential. * Proficiency in standard ICT including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. * An operational understanding in the use of AutoCad would be beneficial but no essential. * Full UK Driving License is essential (6 points or less). * Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.
