Senior Civil Engineer - drainage - Hemel Hempstead - Up to GBP50k plus car Our client, a leading Consultancy and part of a world class global Construction Company opperating across a range of sectors, is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join their team in Hemel Hempstead. As a Civil Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the planning, design, and coordination of civil and drainage projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. They are currently working on a number of impressive Education projects and here you will be interacting closely with the full design team of Architects, Civil and Structural Engineers and MEP specialists delivery challenging drainage solutions to the projects themselves. Key Responsibilities: Develop initial foul and storm water drainage schemes Promote Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) techniques Obtain necessary approvals from local authorities and agencies Create detailed drainage designs with calculations using specialized software Coordinate underground drainage with foundations Evaluate and optimize proposals from outside consultants Coordinate drainage features with Landscape Architect Coordinate incoming services and produce project specifications Interrogate site assessments and topographic surveys Calculate excavation cut and fill volumes Collaborate with geotechnical engineers for soil assessment Conduct swept path analysis for safe vehicle manoeuvring Utilize software for earthworks (cut and fill), pavement, and swept path analysis Implement quality control procedures for safety and accuracy Coordinate with landscape architects for site details Understand rainwater pipe design requirements Attend project meetings and liaise with construction teams Advocate knowledge sharing within project teams Ensure compliance with CDM regulations Requirements: Significant experience in civil and drainage design engineering Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microdrainage and / or Causeway Flow Strong understanding of infrastructure and highway design Knowledge of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) techniques Experience in working on large multidiscipline projects Familiarity with building regulations and industry design standards Understanding of RIBA/BRSIA work stages and deliverables in the building services industry Excellent communication and coordination skills Degree qualified in Civil Engineering is desirable Benefits: Opportunity to work with a leading construction company Competitive salary inclusing car (or car allowance), health care and a comprehensive range of benefits Progression and development opportunities Collaborative and supportive work environment Exciting projects in various sectors If you are a skilled Civil Design Engineer with experience in infrastructure and in particular drainage design, AutoCAD, and SuDS techniques, then we want to hear from you.
