Quantity surveyor

Are you a Quantity Surveyor with a Civil Engineering background who is looking to move into a leadership role? Due to an internal promotion, Elvet Recruitment are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a rapidly expanding Civil Engineering subcontractor based in County Durham. The company are currently in a phase of major growth in the region, with framework wins and a full order book until 2027. They are looking for someone with ambition to develoo into a Commercial Management role in the next 2-3 years. Key Responsibilities: * Commercial reporting including forecasting and wider project performance * Work alongside operational team to produce accurate End Life Forecasts * Manage client interface * Risk management including change control and WIP management * Contract Administration * Provision of contractual advice to the project delivery team * Aid in subcontract procurement and placement, ensuring best value for money and lowest risk achieved at all times * Payment and debt management * Attend internal and external (Client) meetings * Final account compilation / submission Key Competencies: * Team work * Contractual knowledge ndash; NEC3 ECC knowledge is essential * Verbal and written communication skills * Negotiation skills * Organised and efficient * Customer service skills * Ability to multitask and work well under pressure * Civil Engineering / Highways experience * Excellent IT skills ndash; with heavy focus on excel Qualifications Experience: * HNC or above in Quantity Surveying or equivalent is essential * Experience in the construction industry is essential * Experience with scheme finance and commercial management is essential * Ability to understand and respond to contract issues * MRICS or MCIOB is desirable * Experience in the civil engineering industry A salary of up to GBP60,000 plus company vehicle or allowance, annual leave, pension scheme, bonus scheme and other benefits.
