Law tutor

Contract Type: Variable Hours, Permanent Location: Stockton-on-Tees, Durham University International Study Centre Salary: up to GBP35.88 per hour (DOE) Durham University International Study Centre are looking for n experienced Law Tutor to deliver highly effective modules at both International Foundation Year (Pre-Undergraduate or Level 3 Equivalent) and Graduate Diploma (Pre Masters) level. The Law modules at the centre include; The English Legal System, Contract Law, Tort Law, and Extended Project at International Foundation Level, and Legal Institutions Skills and Methods, Contemporary Issues in Law, Fundamentals of Contract Law, and Extended Research at Graduate Diploma Level. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Head of Law and Social Sciences. Durham University International Study Centre programmes cover the following subject areas: * Foundation: Humanities, Law and Social Sciences * Pre-Masters: Law and Social Science Your responsibilities will include: * Delivering modules (face-to-face and occasionally online) to international students studying on programmes offered by the Centre and assisting with the continued development of modules. * Developing modules from module specifications. This will include schemes of learning along with appropriate development of learning resources. * Preparing module examinations and other forms of formative and summative assessment, marking and providing feedback to students. * Assisting with the development and maintenance of the Centre rsquo;s virtual learning environment (VLE). Facilitating student access to same. * Providing input for related modules to the annual review and reporting process * Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date record of student attendance and performance * Providing, when/if required, academic learning support to a small number of students * Participating in regular meetings with teaching and support staff. * Supporting various student engagement activities around the ISC. * Attending lectures given by Durham University to support student progression. * Arranging and supporting visits to places of interest linked to subject. ABOUT YOU You will have experience of, or a commitment to, working with international students and have: * A Bachelor #39;s degree in a relevant subject area (Essential) * A recognised teacher status qualification (Desirable) and/or * A Master rsquo;s degree or equivalent in a related subject area (Desirable) * Teaching experience delivering Law/Social Science programmes within a UK FE/Sixth form or higher education setting (Essential) ABOUT US Study Group is a leading international education provider that is dedicated and passionate about helping students around the world, creating a brighter future and reaching their full potential.
