Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday Days 09:00 - 17:00 Salary: Between GBP31,000 - GBP33,000 DOE Job Description We are currently seeking a Transport Planner to join our Transport team at our Wigan site. As a Transport Planner you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day planning of the transport operation, through the efficient planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer. Job responsibilities of a Transport Planner include: Load planning and liasing with customer factory production to efficiently build loads Planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on site and Outbased vehicles. Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from our customers, sub-contract haulier rsquo;s and warehousing sites. Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times. Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports. Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise Qualifications As a Transport Planner you will possess the following skill, experiences and qualifications: Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment. Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills. Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale. Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year. Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business. Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customer. Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
