Estate gardener

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Estate Gardener with good plant and tree knowledge. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business as an Estate Gardener for a high-profile private client on a prestigious estate. The estate comprises extensive high-end formal gardens, parklands, waterways and features, woodlands and leisure facilities. It would be preferred if the candidate had a recognised horticultural qualification, but this is not essential. Training in the ways of good horticultural practice will be provided on the job. The candidate should have strong experience of high-end gardening, with private estate team work preferred. Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to; Horticulture bull; All aspects of horticulture; specialised and more general bull; All aspects of lawn care bull; Chemical applications and record keeping (PA1 PA6 required) ndash; subject to training and supervision as required bull; Ground clearance and seasonal work bull; Sweeping and maintenance of hard surfaces / furniture within the gardens bull; Tending to borders and lawns bull; Specialised pruning and trimming bull; Care of artificial tennis court - under instruction bull; Maintenance of waterways, lakes and stream, irrigation system bull; Safe operation of machinery subject to training As well as good horticultural ability the candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills / qualities: bull; Cooperative and enthusiastic nature bull; Ability to work positively in a tight knit team bull; Willing to take direction and follow instruction as required bull; Able to work independently and take ownership for work bull; High levels of energy and self-motivation bull; Strong attention to detail bull; A pro-active and can-do attitude bull; Good time-management bull; Ability to work under pressure bull; Strong work ethic bull; Integrity and discretion bull; A desire to develop personally and undertake training Offer a competitive salary for the right candidate, dependent on experience and qualifications and 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays.
