Mechanical asset integrity engineer

Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting on behalf of their client for a Laboratory Technician for a 12 month contract at a Nickel Refinery in Clydach, Swansea. The Mond Nickel Refinery, owned operated by Vale Europe recently celebrated 120 years of production, and is one of the world #39;s leading Nickel refineries. Vale are globally one of the world #39;s largest mining companies, with operations in the UK, Asia, the USA and across Europe. Key accountabilities for the role include: * Ensuring that all activities comply with Refinery and regulatory EH S requirements. * Analysing product and process samples and recording analytical results in laboratory workbooks and Refinery database as prescribed by standard procedures. * Operating laboratory equipment and standardising instruments prior to analysis. * Perform routine maintenance on analytical instruments. To apply for the position, individuals must have a Chemistry (or Chemistry related) degree. It is also preferred if the candidate has previous QA laboratory experience. The ability to work safely, have a flexible approach towards work along with the ability to work as part of a team and as an individual will be a requirement for this role. The ideal candidate will also have a strong desire to contribute to the on-going Continuous Improvement efforts that have been deployed in the Laboratory Area over recent years
