Overview: You rsquo;ll be working as a Senior Company Secretary in our award-winning company secretarial business, Company Matters, A member of MUFG Pension Market Services, one of the largest company secretarial providers in the UK and well-known for its expertise in corporate governance advisory services and company secretarial administration. As a Senior Company Secretary, you will make a strategic and commercial contribution to the business by utilising your company secretarial and managerial skills. You will provide a broad spectrum of company secretarial services for individual client entities and large group structures. You will support the Associate Directors and Senior Managers to enable us to meet our business plan, developing the capabilities of our highly skilled team. This role is based on a hybrid basis from our central London office, so you need to live within a commutable distance to enable you to be in the office each week. This means you rsquo;ll really need the following skills: bull; A CGI (Chartered Governance Institute) qualified or part-qualified Company Secretary with demonstrable experience working in a Company Secretary role in the UK, ideally within a professional services environment or a desire to be part of one bull; An ability to show extensive knowledge of UK company law, regulation and best practice bull; Exceptional verbal and written communication and influencing skills, enabling you to build, develop and maintain relationships with intermediaries, third parties and key client contacts bull; The passion, drive and desire to work in a fast-paced environment balancing conflicting deadlines bull; Proven UK experience in a listed company, board-facing and / or with investment trust experience bull; Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent organisational and project management skills and the ability to take minutes bull; The ability to integrate into a dynamic team, working in a collaborative manner, whilst overseeing and supporting less experience team members to strive forward in their personal and professional development bull; Commercial awareness, with the drive and desire to contribute to a growing business bull; Strong client facing and relationship management skills It would be nice to have: bull; Working knowledge of Diligent Entities (formerly lsquo;Blueprint rsquo;) and knowledge of working in other jurisdictions Day to Day responsibilities: bull; Providing entity management and governance with timely and expert advice and support to clients, including attendance at meetings in a minute taking and advisory capacity bull; Managing a varied portfolio of clients, including complex and high profile listed companies bull; Contributing to the direction of our business by developing and retaining our client base, shaping the evolution of our existing services bull; Sharing technical knowledge with other team members and leading internal knowledge sharing initiatives bull; Proactively contributing to operational and / or client related improvement and initiatives bull; Providing advice and guidance on corporate governance best practice to a diverse portfolio of clients bull; Preparing, coordinating and releasing regulatory announcements on behalf of client companies using a range of RIS portals bull; Support the Managing Director with internal financial risk reporting obligations bull; Overseeing, training and supporting more junior colleagues, enabling them to develop their career bull; Maintaining corporate registers, Director details and records for client entities from a regulatory, statutory and governance reporting requirements perspective
