Field service engineer

Field Service Engineer Cambridge c. GBP45,000 + Company vehicle + Bonus + Bens (OTE c. GBP55,000) Our client is one of the UK rsquo;s leading companies in the sales and distribution of perishable items. The company has enjoyed dramatic growth and is now seeking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain and repair a wide range of equipment. We are seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join an expanding field service team. Based from lovely offices the job will be to provide field installation and service support for customers based throughout the UK. Responsibilities: * Work as a key member of the service team to provide on-site installation, commissioning and training for new installations. * Conduct PPM site visits in accordance with service department scheduling * Respond to breakdown calls in a timely manner to fault-diagnose and repair. * Ensure all electrical fittings / wiring meets the required safety standards. * Complete final tests on all work undertaken, taking action to rectify any faults identified * Accurately record and report all service work through the service software system * Provide suitable information to allow for quotes to be generated by the Service Department and/or Sales Department * Responsibly manage and document through the service software system, the company vehicle, tools and stock provided * Positively respond to performance data relating to field operations in order to continually improve effectiveness and efficiency * Prepare and write customer visit reports for internal and external use where needed, utilising the company software system * Deal professionally, competently and courteously with customers, suppliers and colleagues in verbal and written communications * Comply with the company Health Safety policies The ideal candidate: We are looking for an all-round Service Engineer with technical skills, experience, confidence and determination. * Minimum 3 years rsquo; experience working with Electromechanical Engineering/Maintenance post apprenticeship. Preferably within FMCG or Food Processing Industry * A good track record of maintaining electromechanical equipment. * Good fault diagnoses skills across a range of electromechanical equipment. * Previous experience in a field service role dealing with demanding customers * Capable of making appointments, managing own diary and dealing with customer demands * Good fault diagnosis skills * Must be willing to work unscheduled hours on occasion Qualifications * HNC/HND or similar (NVQ/HND/HNC/City Guilds in Electrical), engineering qualification * Electrical biased qualifications preferred * 17th-18th Wiring Regulations preferred * Clean driving licence with a maximum of 3 points * Electrical engineering 3 phase experience and electrical fault finding and maintenance skills Package * Company van, company phone and laptop * 25 days holiday + bank holidays * Annual bonus and work-away payments * Salary up to GBP45k per year; OTE GBP55k + overtime Please get in touch to find out more
