Bennett and Game Recruitment currently have the pleasure of representing a well-established Town Planning Consultancy based in York, who are seeking an ambitious Assistant Town Planner to join the team. Our client offer a wide selection of planning services and advice on a mixture of projects within the residential, strategic land, energy and environmental project across England and Wales. With 2 offices based throughout the UK, our client has developed a healthy pipeline and a strong cliental. Their steady workload, not only stems from repeat business of private clients but also from a sister company. As an Assistant Town Planner you will be a vital part of the wider team, working closely alongside senior members of staff on projects from beginning through to conclusion. You will be liaising directly with clients including, building new client relationships and managing existing relationships with client meetings and site visits. Assistant Town Planner Position Remuneration Competitive salary ranging from GBP28,000 - GBP35,000 (depending on experience) Pension Hybrid working, 2 days from home Social events 30 days annual leave, including bank holidays Progression opportunities Other opportunities to be discussed at interview stageAssistant Town Planner Position Overview Assisting in the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiries Attending regular community engagement, committee meetings and public examinations Conducting research and feeding into planning appraisals to establish the development of potential of sites Researching planning policies to guide developments Writing high quality reports with recommendations Communicating with all stakeholders involved in the planning process Attending site visits and client meetingsAssistant Town Planner Position Requirements Chartered membership with the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), is preferred Minimum of 2+ years post qualification experience An RTPI accredited degree A full driving licence Strong report writing skills and experience of delivering recommendations on a range of major planning applications Excellent communication skills, both written and verbalBennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
