Job Title: SEN Teacher Subject: Art and DT (other areas can be arranged) Location: Penzance Company Overview: The Supply Register are a managed service working alongside 4 large multi academy trusts within Devon Cornwall. We are currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable SEN English Teacher to join our team. Position Overview: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs (SEN)? Our school community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join our team. Key Responsibilities: Deliver Tailored Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects, adapting teaching strategies and materials to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students with SEN, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning challenges. Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, implementing specialized interventions and accommodations outlined in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct regular assessments to track students #39; progress and inform instructional planning. Collaborate with other professionals, such as SENCOs and educational psychologists, to evaluate students #39; needs and adjust support strategies as necessary. Behaviour Management: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment by implementing effective behaviour management strategies and providing social-emotional support to students with SEN. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students #39; academic, social, and emotional development. Attend and contribute to SEN review meetings and other relevant forums. Qualifications and Skills: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching students with SEN, preferably in a school or educational setting. Specialized training or qualifications in SEN education, such as a Postgraduate Certificate in SEN or equivalent, are highly desirable. Strong understanding of different learning needs and the ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual students #39; requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers, and external stakeholders.
