Secondary Head of French Required Ark John Keats Academy Permanent Full time role, September 2024 Start (Flexible/Part time working will be considered) Paid to scale + TLR2c GBP7,847 depending on experience The Supply Register is currently working in partnership with Ark John Keats Academy in Enfield to find an exceptional Secondary Head of French to join their team from September 2024. We are looking for someone who has an unwavering determination to deliver excellence for their students and is committed to continually improving classroom practice and raising attainment. About the role We are looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Head of French to join our team and lead on this critical curriculum area. All students at Ark John Keats study French throughout KS3 and the vast majority take French to GCSE level ndash; our current entry rate is 80% and we are ambitious about ensuring all students become proficient linguists. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or aspiring Head of Department to join a large and successful school. The ideal candidate will be someone who aligns with our approach to curriculum and teaching. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with other teachers and leaders in the school and across the Ark network to secure excellent outcomes for our children. Responsibilities Help to set high expectations for the department so that all students are inspired, motivated and challenged to reach their full potential Create a positive climate for learning by partaking in the MFL departments implementation of lesson routines and consistently and fair application of behaviour systems Develop strong partnerships and ensure regular communication with parents Be active in issues of student welfare and support Complete duties around the school, modelling best practice for all staff Requirements Mastery of and enthusiasm for French Knowledge of the national secondary education system, examinations and curriculum Must hold QTS or equivalent teaching qualifications Must hold Right to work in the UK Must hold an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to process one Must be able to provide a minimum of 2 professional references to cover the last 2 years If you are interested in this role please apply now and a member of The Supply Register Team will be in touch!
